There are times I can play a hymn on the piano and know that I played every note as written. I don't know that I have ever been able to say that about the organ. But every week, I try.Joni_rthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765236998115894220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5922196299871688841.post-47974702582080492772011-02-14T10:49:40.015-08:002011-02-14T10:49:40.015-08:00I love the accordion! I USED to try to vary the stops on the organ. Somewhere along the line I stopped caring, and just play on the same settings. It seems when I try something different it is often loud and reedy and jarring. (Plus you have to be a good enough pianist to quickly change stops between verses.) In December I played one hymn for Sacrament meeting in which I played the wrong notes on the last chord on THREE of the verses! I swore the organ had a vendetta against me! It sounded terrible, and I couldn't see which hand (or foot) was on the wrong key. Strangely the verse I got right was number three, not number four! It was humiliating. As a rule, I try to make my jarring mistakes on passing notes!Judy Bushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00335836350648223399noreply@blogger.com
